The Thanet Team

The Thanet delivery team is lead by Centre Manager Caleb Harris, overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre as well as strategic vision, development and planning.

The Youth Team is lead by Youth Coordinator Caleb Harris, and our Youth workers include Simone Louch, Rokib Ali and James Gibson-Neville

Caleb Harris is our Youth Coordinator, and runs our Over 50’s Coffee Morning.

NWFP / Sewing Hub is lead by trustees Derek Purcell and Fiona Brown, with project management support from Mervi Autio.

Lamonte Johnson and Sam Parkes run our bike project.

The Thanet Trustees

The Thanet has strong Board of Directors with active involvement in the community:

Mike Faulkner is our Chair, a retired educator, and has been with us since 1980.

Fiona Brown is passionate, committed and very hands-on with all aspects of the Thanet’s work, and is lead advisor on strategy.

Derek Purcell in the building most days, offers his time, industry connections and professional expertise every year for our two-week fashion training, offering mentoring and an internship to the most promising student.

Tom Allen runs the weekly Vegbox scheme from The Thanet yard.

Damien Anyasi runs dynamic and engaging hip-hop dance classes (B-Better and Manifest Nation) for local children and young people.

Paul Stephens is the Sensei of Yoshinkan Aikido at the Thanet, and brings a wealth of experience from years of service in the Police force.

Bill Perry, who also served on the force, retired from the Board at the end of September 2019.  He was our longest-serving Trustee, and was our Treasurer since 1967.
